the thing is, the people online rn making ‘bowie was problematic’ posts aren’t doing it to attack bowie himself, they’re doing it to make fans feel guilty. no matter what you think of him, whether you like it or not, he was an queer icon to many of us. his music has had a profound effect on so many lives, and to shame someone in their moment of grief is an awful, awful thing to do.

the thing that’s so wild about drake’s human trafficking thing is that like…. no one has defended him. drake has said nothing on the issue, no friends of drake have spoken up, i have literally not even seen drake stans defend this. so why is he still widely loved and popular on social media??? why haven’t more people taken him to task for being good friends with a human trafficker that forced a woman into prostitution? this isn’t like there was a tweet of him being problematic or him saying something questionable in a song. he is literally complicit in the direct oppression of woc and. no one cares.
